What to Expect

Singing

Teaching

Teaching

Our singing is done as a congregation, without the aid of mechanical instruments of music. In a capella singing, we praise God making “melody in our hearts to the Lord” (Eph. 5:19; Col. 3:16). The songs we sing are selected with care, to praise and glorify God and to create an atmosphere of worship.  Sing along with us and experience the joy of praising our Creator.

Teaching

The teaching will be done by men only, speaking one at a time.  The women will remain silent, not because they are inferior, but because of God’s teaching in I Cor. 14:34-35 and I Tim. 2:11-12. You are welcome to bring your Bible and follow along as we study from God’s Word.

Prayer

Teaching

Prayer

There will be several prayers during our worship service. We seek to pray with the spirit and the understanding in a decent and orderly way.  Each prayer is our opportunity to humble ourselves before the throne of God to praise Him, thank Him for His blessings, intercede for others, and petition Him to meet our needs (I Cor. 14:15, 40; Phil. 4:6; Jas. 5:16).

The Lord's Supper

Invitation to Become a Christian

Collection for the Saints

Each Lord’s day (first day of the week) we strive to observe the communion or Lord’s supper in the same way it was instituted by Jesus and continued by the apostles (Acts 20:7; Matt. 26: 26-28; I Cor. 10:16, 17; 11:1, 2, 23-28). The brother attending the table will take unleavened bread, give thanks, break off his portion, and eat.  Then,  each Christian also breaks off a portion and eats. He will then take the cup containing fruit of the vine (grape juice), give thanks, drink a portion, and then gives it to the others who also drink. This is a joint participation in the body and blood of Jesus, a memorial of His great sacrifice on the cross (Matt. 26: 26-28; Luke 22: 17-20; I Cor. 11:26).

Collection for the Saints

Invitation to Become a Christian

Collection for the Saints

The collection for the saints is only taken on the first day of the week (I Cor. 16:1-2). At this time the members of the church are permitted to give of their means as the Lord has prospered them, purposing in their own hearts how much to give (II Cor. 9:7,8). This contribution is for the work of the church.

Invitation to Become a Christian

At each service an invitation is extended to all that are not Christians to obey the gospel and become followers of Christ (Matt. 4:19; Matt. 8:22; Matt. 11:28-30; Mark 8:34-38; Rev. 22:17). The backsliders, likewise, are also urged to return to the Lord (Gal 6:1; Jas. 5:19-20; I John 1:9). Don’t feel uncomfortable or pressured during this invitation.  If you have a need, we will be glad to assist you.  You will never be singled out or embarrassed in any way.
